Director of Strategy
Joe Castle is Director of Strategy of Camlas. Following a career in the NHS in Wales and government, she joined the innovative pharmaceutical sector, working for The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), most recently as their Head of External Affairs and Operations in Wales.
Born and raised in South Wales, Joe graduated from the Open University with a BA in Social Policy, before completing her master’s degree in the same subject at Cardiff University. Her dissertation focused on the co-production of health policy and its implementation, focusing on the role of patient organisations and the third sector.
A former committee member of Public Affairs Cymru and Vice-Chair of the Welsh NHS Confederation Health and Well-being Alliance, Joe currently sits on the governing body of Bridgend College of Further Education, is a member of the Plan for Neighbourhoods Board – Barry and helps run the Baobab Bach CIC Barry Pantry.
