The Rt Hon Sir David Hanson was Member of Parliament for the Delyn constituency from 1992-2019.
He served as a Minister in the Home office, Northern Ireland, Justice, Wales and the Whips Office and was Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister for four years.
David served on various Select Committees, including Justice and Wales, and was appointed to serve on the Intelligence and Security Committee overseeing the work of MI5 and MI6. He also chaired proceedings in Westminster as a member of the Speaker’s Panel of Chairs.
Prior to parliament David worked as a Director of a national charity, in retail for the Coop and as a national service manager. He has extensive local government experience having been a local councillor, committee chair and leader of his group.
Since leaving parliament David has been involved as a trustee with national charities and locally in North Wales. His interests outside of family are cinema, travel and watching football.
